The Languedoc Wine Route

Enjoy a weekend getaway close to the Mediterranean beaches: take your car
towards one of the many vineyards of Languedoc. On the road to Spain, from
Carcassonne to Montpellier via Narbonne, Béziers and Sète, stroll among
scrublands and discover the various terroirs of the area.
Red, rosé, white, sparkling or sweet, soak up the variety of wines produced in
Languedoc! Get to know many grape varieties such as Syrah, Carignan,
Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Chardonnay or Muscat. Visit vineyards and cellars,
and taste some Languedoc wine in one of the many estates or cooperatives
wineries of Corbières, Minervois, Limoux, Faugères, Saint-Chinian, or Coteaux-du-
Languedoc! Pic Saint Loup Corbières Boutenac
From Narbonne to Carcassonne: Cathar Country wines
After a walk in the medieval city of Carcassonne, an afternoon in the Sigean
African reserve, a hike in the Massif de la Clape and an evening in Narbonne,
seize the opportunity to take a wine tour of the region! Minervois, Corbières,
Cabardes, Limoux, Malepère, Fitou, Clape… discover the many beautiful vineyards
of the area!
Plan a daytrip a few kilometers away from the Canal du Midi: walk through
vineyards, and soak up the diversity of Cathar Country wines. Whether you go to
private estates or to cooperative wineries, friendly and passionate winemakers will
always be there to greet you. They will be happy to introduce you to their bottles,
produced in the middle of scrublands.
Enjoy a tasting of Blanquette de LimouxÂ… Did you know that this sparkling wine is
considered ""the oldest in the world""? The Abbey of Saint-Hilaire Benedictine
monks were already producing it in the sixteenth century! After that, you will
always be tempted to open a bottle of Blanquette de Limoux with black truffle
dishes. Learn also how to pair the powerful and generous wines of Corbières,
Minervois and Fitou with local food specialties like cassoulet.

Cabardès Minervois
Wines from Béziers to Sète : southern vineyards
From Sete to Beziers via the Cap d'Agde, make a stop on your way along the A9
motorway and the Mediterranean Sea to visit the vineyards of Herault. Many
private estates, farmhouses and cooperative wineries will welcome you into their
cellar, and share with you their love of their sunny terroir.
Between sea and scrublands, the terroirs of Saint-Chinian and Faugères will
amaze you! They produce powerful and spicy red wine from the Grenache, Syrah,
Mourvèdre and Carignan grape varieties. And a few kilometres away, you will be
charmed by the authenticity of Pézenas and its generous wines.
Clairette du Languedoc, Picpoul de Pinet… white wine lovers will also find a wine
that suits them in Hérault! Same for Rosé enthusiasts, who will appreciate the
many salmon colored bottles produced in the Coteaux du Languedoc. Come and
enjoy the wide range of wines in one of the countless wineries, and soak up the
character of these incredible terroirs.

Minervois
You will find in Minervois powerful and full bodied red wines, with an excellent aging capacity

Fitou
Fitou wines are dominated by the grape variety Carignan.

They are powerful, wild and often aged in oak barrels

Corbières
Whether they are red, white or rosé, Corbières wines will amaze you with their aromatic complexity

Saint-Chinian
Fall in love with the generosity of Saint-Chinian wines, whether they are red, rosés and whiteÂ…

Blanquette de Limoux
“World's oldest sparkling wine”, the Blanquette de Limoux is a Languedoc must-see and mustdrink!

Coteaux du Languedoc
You will find in the Coteaux du Languedoc vineyard a wide range of terroirs, and be amazed by their local characteristics and specificities!
